Gift card regions explained: why the country matters

The most common reason a code gets rejected is not a bad code, it is the wrong region. Here is how to always pick the right one.

How it works

01

Pick your card

Choose the brand, the country of your account and the amount. The price is locked when you create the order.

02

Pay with crypto

Send the exact amount to the address we show you. We detect the payment on the blockchain by ourselves.

03

Get your code

Once it confirms, your gift card code appears on your order page, ready to copy and redeem.

Every gift card we sell is issued for a specific country or region. Pick the right one and the code works the moment you paste it; pick the wrong one and the store will refuse it, even though the code is perfectly valid. Region locks are decided by the brands, not by us, and they cannot be changed once a card is issued. Understanding them takes five minutes and saves a lot of frustration.

Why brands lock cards to a country

Gift cards are sold in a currency and under the consumer rules of one market. Prices, taxes, catalogues and licences for digital content change from country to country, so brands keep each country's balance separate. Amazon Spain and Amazon Germany are, from this point of view, two different shops; the PlayStation Store in the UK and in Italy too.

The types of region you will see

Region typeExample in the catalogueWhere it works

Country, Spain onlyEl Corte Inglés, Alcampo, Repsol, Zara, Just EatSpain
Currency zoneSteam EU (EUR) and Steam US (USD)Steam wallets in that currency
GlobalRazer Gold, RobloxNot tied to one country

Each brand page lists its regions with the flag and currency, for example Amazon (Spain, Germany, France, Italy, UK, US) or IKEA (Spain, Germany, France, Italy).

How to find your account region

Online stores (Amazon, Zalando, IKEA…)

The domain you shop on tells you: amazon.es is Spain, amazon.fr is France, zalando.de is Germany. For physical stores, the region is the country where the store is.

Consoles and app stores

  • PlayStation: account settings show the country set when the account was created.
  • Xbox / Microsoft: your Microsoft account profile shows the country or region.
  • Nintendo: the country appears in your Nintendo Account settings.
  • Apple and Google Play: the country of your Apple Account or Google Play profile, which also decides the currency you see in the store.

Steam

Look at the currency of your wallet balance. Euros means the EU card, dollars means the US card. More on this in buying Steam and PlayStation credit with crypto.

What happens if you choose the wrong region

The store rejects the code with a message such as "not valid in your country". The code is not damaged and has not been used, but it can only be redeemed on an account of the correct country. Brands do not convert codes between regions. If it happens, contact our support chat with your order ID before trying anything else, and never hand the code to third parties who promise to "unlock" it.

Travelling or living abroad

What counts is the account, not where you are standing. If you live in France but your Amazon account is on amazon.es, you need a Spanish card. If you moved to Germany and opened a new PSN account there, you need German cards for it. With app stores, changing the country of an account is possible but has conditions set by each platform, so it is easier to buy the card that matches the account you already use.

Buying a card as a present

When the card is for someone else, their account decides the region, not yours. Ask discreetly which Amazon store they use, or which country their PlayStation or Nintendo account is in, before you order. If you cannot ask, a store that only exists in one country is a safer bet: an El Corte Inglés or Alcampo card, for instance, is obviously for Spain. After payment, copy the code from your order page and pass it on privately, for example in a message only they can read. Remember that the code works for whoever redeems it first, so do not post it anywhere public.

A quick checklist before paying

  1. Which store or account will receive the code?
  2. Which country is that account registered in (or which currency does the wallet show)?
  3. Is that country listed on the brand page?
  4. Does the confirmation line under the buy button ("this card only works in…") show the country you expect?

Once the region is right, the rest is simple: pay in crypto, for example a PlayStation card with USDT or an Amazon card with Bitcoin, and copy the code from your order page.

Frequently asked questions

Is an "EU" card valid in every European country?

In our catalogue the EU region is only used for Steam, where it means a euro Steam Wallet. Every other European card is for one specific country, such as Spain or Germany.

Can a brand convert my code to another country?

Generally no: brands issue codes for one market and do not move them. That is why choosing the region of your account before paying is essential.

What does Global mean for Razer Gold and Roblox?

Those cards are not tied to a single country store. You still redeem them on your own account, following the brand's instructions.
